The Joys and Trials of having Non-Conformist Relatives - Oxfordshire FHS Talk 26 September 2016

On Monday, 26 September 2016, Emma Walsh will talk to Oxfordshire FHS on:

The Joys and Trials of having Non-Conformist Relatives

Family history is a treasure hunt at the best of times and this is certainly the case when you discover that your relative is a non-conformist such as a Baptist or a Congregationalist. It is when looking for these relatives that your skills are really put to the test with additional dead ends to avoid and strange practices to decipher during your search. Emma will talk about how to identify these additional tests and work through them and will also share the tips and tricks she has learnt during her eight years of helping people search for their non-conformist ancestors and their relatives as part of the team at The Angus Library at Regent’s Park College, Oxford.

We meet at the Exeter Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington, OX5 1AB, with the talk starting at 8:00pm. Doors open at 7:15pm, when there will be advisors offering computer and genealogy help, and tea and coffee will be available.
