Getting organized - a new genealogical timeline tool - talk, 3 August 2015

On Monday, 3 August 2015, Jessica Feinstein, Membership Secretary of Oxfordshire FHS, will talk to OFHS on “Getting organised – a new genealogical timeline tool“.

The meeting will be held at the Exeter Hall, Oxford Road, Kidlington, OX5 1AB, with the talk starting at 7:30pm.

Jessica says the talk will introduce a new way to organize your family history, helping you to think about the records you’ve collected in a different, more creative way. This approach will help you to spot gaps and discrepancies, work out where to focus your research efforts, and see your ancestors’ lives in a whole new light. The technique works for breaking down brick walls and is a powerful tool if you’re thinking about getting started on a biography or short story about an ancestor or branch of your family.

Jessica teaches family history for beginners and more experienced students in Oxfordshire, and is working her way through the Genealogical Studies Postgraduate Programme run by Strathclyde University. She has been researching her own family tree since she was a child, and particularly enjoys getting other people addicted to this wonderful hobby.

Both members and non-members of OFHS are very welcome.
