The Victoria County History (VCH) series of books is nearing completion for Oxfordshire, with 20 volumes published, and 3 still to be published. All but volumes IXX and XX are available, free, on the internet at https://www.british-history.ac.uk/search/series/vch–oxon

The excellent mapping of Oxfordshire which is part of the heritagesearch suite from Oxfordshire History Centre includes an overlay option, showing, amongst others, not only the parish of your place of choice, but also the volume of the VCH covering that parish – with a link included to the text of the volume where appropriate.
