Research at home using Oxfordshire libraries’ online resources
June 28, 2021 7:15 PM - 9:30 PM
by Paul Gaskell; this talk, which will be preceded by the Society’s AGM, commences at 8:00pm. It will take place via Zoom.
The presentation will showcase the use of a large number of datasets made available online by Oxfordshire Libraries for the benefit of library members. These datasets can be used at home and without charge. Similar online offerings are made available by library services across the UK. They are potentially of huge value to researchers, but many seem to be unaware of their availability.
Paul Gaskell started to research his family history some thirty-plus years ago. He has lines in his native Lancashire, in Dorset, in Roscommon and Mayo and on Cape Breton Island on Canada’s east coast. He served for sixteen years (1998-2014) on the society’s executive committee and performed a number of administrative roles during that period.
A recording of this talk will be placed in the Members’ area of the website soon after it has been given.
