Oxfordshire FHS on That's Oxford TV

Alan Simpson, from Oxfordshire FHS, has been invited by That’s Oxford TV to “sit on the sofa” at 5pm tonight, Wednesday 23rd September 2015, to talk about Oxfordshire FHS, and, in particular, our forthcoming Fair in Woodstock on October 3rd.

I understand That’s Oxford TV covers Oxfordshire & Aylesbury, and is to be found in those areas on Freeview Channel 8.

Alan has been very active in Oxfordshire FHS for a number of years. He’s to be found in various churchyards of Oxfordshire in the summer leading teams transcribing and photographing the gravestones. As a result of these projects, Oxfordshire FHS has about 40 CDs of different parishes’ Monumental Inscriptions available for purchase. (Alan’s the one “up close” to the gravestone in the picture!)

Many Oxfordshire researchers will have been helped by Alan, since he runs the OFHS Search Services, and will carry out searches in the Society’s databases including those of baptisms, marriages and burials.
