It starts on 28 May and ends on 11 September
Fifty fascinating objects, each telling a unique story, and brought together to celebrate Oxfordshire Museums Service’ half century. Chosen by community groups and members of the Service past and present, this exhibition showcases Oxfordshire’s rich heritage through the memories, experiences and interests of people from across the county.
‘Oxfordshire in 50 Objects’ features some fantastic items: look out for fabulous Anglo-Saxon jewellery, a clock gun, there is even part of a human spine with an arrow embedded in it! Explore the galleries through film, hands on activities for adults and children alike – truly something for the whole family!
The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock is also having a party to mark the opening of the exhibition and celebrate its birthday! Thursday 9th June, 6-9pm
Live music for the Oxfordshire Jazz Collective, delicious food from Crepesomania, Bar provided by The Oxford Bar Company, displays of Oxfordshire over the past 50 years with the Oxfordshire History Centre and nostalgic memories with old Mini’s for the Abingdon owners Club. Free admission.
